We're not saying it's magic. We're saying your great-grandmother didn't have a 12-step routine and her skin was probably fine.

What is beef tallow?

Rendered beef fat. Specifically suet — the fat from around the kidneys. Sounds odd, we know. Humans used it on skin for centuries before petroleum derivatives got cheap and marketing got loud. It works because the fatty acid profile is close to human sebum. That's the actual reason, not vibes.

Is this good for acne-prone skin?

No. Tallow is occlusive and can clog pores. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, this is not your product. We'd rather lose the sale than have you break out and leave a one-star review.

What does "cosmetic grade" mean?

Accepted Answer

It means the tallow has been rendered and then micro-filtered beyond food grade. The filtration removes odour, colour, and impurities. Food grade tallow is safe to eat but not optimized for skin. Cosmetic grade is. The difference matters and most people selling tallow skip this step.

No. That's what the filtration is for. If it smelled like a brisket, we wouldn't sell much.

How long does a jar last?

2–3 months with daily use. Most people use too much at first — a pea-sized amount covers your face. Once you figure that out, the 200ml jar outlasts your expectations.

What is the shelf life?

Unopened: 12+ months at room temperature. Opened: 6–12 months. Keep the lid on, keep it out of direct sunlight. It is shelf-stable fat, not a smoothie.

Is it whipped or solid?

Accepted Answer

Whipped — soft at room temperature, easy to apply. In a BC winter it firms up; in a BC summer it softens. This is physics, not a defect.
